Obstacles/Development/Final Idea

 Obstacles:

Many obstacles met throughout the filming of Edale were mainly due to the weather. The weather on the day of the filming day was wind and rain. We found that this put a strain on our shooting, by making  few of our shots look grainy when looking over them in the edit suite. Also due to the wind, we found a few of our shots had a lot of camera movement even with it being on a tripod. towards the end of the day the weather began to go lighter, with less clouds and slightly more sun. due to this, in editing it was hard to make our shots flow with the colour and weather not matching up all the way through.
Even though we found this type of weather exceptionally difficult to work with, i found it was a learning curve for the future, to prepare myself for all types of weather, and not allow it to effect my work. It also gave me experience into ways of filming and producing interesting shots, even when the weather made them dull.

Development:

In editing, a lot of our shots came out very photographic, therefore making it harder to make the shots flow consistently, so we worked with this idea. Our original edit was more based around the journey of Edale, with a few shots showing the back of a person. We found this initial idea did not work as strong as we had hoped. Producing a few still image shots, and creating 3 second black space between our shots allowed our work to have a creative look to it. Some of the shots also seemed either too fast or too slow, due to panning or water movement, so we experimented in speeding and slowing down, which in the end worked out to be effective and unique.

 Final Idea:
we decided to develop on the idea of the documentary of colour, motion and unusual detail found in and around Edale. The finished Edit of out Still moving image project became a collage of photographic film shots, showing the picturesque of Edale. The effect i hope the film has on the viewer is focused on the interesting aspects a natural valley can hold, that would not be obvious.
